# Update

Prior to installing a new version of this theme, remember to **create a backup** of the current version to ensure data safety. Simply click on the three dots beside your active theme and choose the download option.

If you haven't made any changes to the theme files previously, you can easily upload the new `finebits.zip` file in the Ghost Admin, and you're good to go.

However, if you have modified certain files previously, you must apply those changes again to the new theme files corresponding to the latest version; otherwise, **your changes will be overwritten**.

For minor theme adjustments like style changes, it's recommended to make them directly in the Ghost Admin using [Code Injection](https://ghost.org/tutorials/use-code-injection-in-ghost/). This way, your changes will be saved and maintained seamlessly.
